Home field for The Dream Team...
This is where the real things take place. On the Olympic Stadium. The Summer's weed is gone. The paint smells fresh. I feel everyone is prepared for the new season. I love my power walks here. Many laps by now. Feeling the important soil I am treading on. Soon The Dream Team of Molivos will take over...

Pilgrimage and faith...
It has crossed my mind before and I can still so well remember my own pilgrimage that early in the morning across the ridges, creeks and roads, all the way to the village of Mantamados, some thirty kilometers to walk. I took it as something I wanted to do and still do, but on a motorbike. The island sort of gets to me and under the skin. For me as a personal experience. Being there, I have understood how close a place this is for a Greek in general and for many Greeks in particular. Faith is strong and perhaps meaning a bit extra during days of agony...

Fall, around the corner...
A bouncing sound outside. "The cats again", I thought. But no, the wind from the sea and the plants fell down. I replanted one of them into a bigger pot and put them somewhere else. Yes, Fall is approaching, slowly, slowly and with it, cooler and refreshing winds at night. People putting a sweater or a jacket on. After all these weeks of extreme heat, it still feels like I miss it already, but time passes...

I get so sad, and angry as well...
It is a mystery this with Greeks and helmets. I rather carry it across my arm, so it really becomes a nuisance for me in the traffic, than putting it on my head. How difficult can it be???
"No, I am so used to go that way, but when I go to Mytilini, then I have it on...", or "no, it is such a short way...". Who knows when it will happen? And "ti na kanoume" is not a very valid statement. I get sad and slightly angry, because these are my friends and I like to keep my friends sound and healthy and shiny! And then it happened, for two close friends on a motor bike, overrating their driving skills, too small wheels...very painful. Now they bought helmets.
I hope they will keep them on for more than a week. Every day, every time.
I will not even touch the subject about driving with two kids without any protection at all, plus the two parents. Then I will go totally crazy.
There is no word for it....

Tropical Lesvos...
It started early with rumbling noise over the mountain ridge. Rolled in and the lightning was spectacular and very, very loud. I am joining my neighbor ladies league of no watering plants today. 20 minutes later, just right at this very moment, the same sun again and not a cloud to be seen anywhere....

Coolers in the heat...
It is hot. I am not suffering. But it is hot. Very hot. Yesterday I stayed inside most of the day. Just too much to take. Looked for something to cool down with. Found many from earlier this year, giving me reminders of all those variations of colors and light, come rain and come shine. This incredible island. Even better than air co...

Morning light means another day in life...
I take it for granted. Like I take many other things in life for granted. Sometimes, and especially in the mornings, I remind myself of the fact that there is no such thing as "for granted". Without being pathetic about this, I go with the incredible morning light here on the island, or wherever I am for that matter. Looking it right in the face when it shows up. And drinking the water and coffee in silence...
